Historically a Gentlemen’s Residence, commissioned by the Army during the Second World War, we have slowly been bringing Castlemead back to its former glory.
What was once a tennis court, to the sea-facing side of the house is now a large lawn with stunning views, perfect for soaking up the August sun with a large G&T.
The lawn perfectly accommodates a marquee for very special weddings.
Weather permitting, we serve drinks and food alfresco.
In our private walled garden, which we are slowly restoring, we grow lots of our soft fruit, early rhubarb and as much of our green fresh veg as possible!
Our polytunnel provides us with herbs, salad leaves, more exotic vegetables and cutting flowers for the restaurant. We have a further orchard with apples and pears.
